Smile Had my side mirror covers painted matte black

A few weeks I was driving along a curvy section of road and another driver clipped my side mirror when he passed over the center line. Luckily, the damage was no where as bad as it could've been.

I ended up losing my driver's side mirror cover. A replacement cover and having it painted would have ended up costing nearly $200 or more, so I decided to do a mod instead and paint both sides matte black!

Here are some pics (taken on my phone, unfortunately). So far I'm digging the look on montego blue!

After I got clipped. My baby looked like a cyborg and was getting weird stares

After I got them painted matte black

looks like a clean paint job, but i woulda done glossy black instead. matte black parts like that just remind me of low trim grades like a civic dx or something.

Wow! Could have been so much worse, glad to hear it wasn't!
I think it looks great. Seems like you trim is matte as well, I think it flows really well! What did you use for the mirror rings & housing that attaches to the car? Is that painted as well or vinyl?

Funny, they actually came out kinda glossy but I had to ask them to repaint it because it wasn't really matte black originally. Rest of car has a matte black theme so I had to match... thought about going glossy black at one point but I thought it might scratch too easy.

Thanks dude. Actually didn't do anything to the mirror rings/housing. That part I left stock but it pretty much matches matte black, just has a lil more shine.

Nice job. But I'd rather pay $200 more and get it painted gloss black or pay a $100 for the CF mirror caps.
