All fluid is now drained Also installed new wheel studs.

Currently waiting for tow to shop to get hard lines repaired, remaining steel lines installed and fresh brake fluid. Hoping to get it back before HPDE at PittRace this weekend.
And the hits keep on coming. I felt a little play in the driveshaft when doing my own inspection, but didn't really think it was that bad. Shop doing my track inspection said they will not pass it as the U-joint has too much play. Sourcing a driveshaft on short notice for this car is not easy. None of the usual suspects have them in stock (I am not that surprised) and no yards within 500 mi that I called have one. Found a bunch in FL, TX and CA, but I'm in Western NY and shipping is several days.

Was able to get a Dorman one here by Friday to install from Rockauto. Has anyone gone this route and can give me any feedback on quality? Dorman parts have been hit or miss for me on Subarus and Acuras, I've never installed any in a BMW.

I've had the same experience. I used a couple of their Honda parts, but no BMW. The CV axles held up to regular daily use, but I don't think I would have wanted to track one. I also used a ball joint that was okay. The engine mounts I used were not machined properly and required a lot of grinding to fit.

Thanks! Weird how the rear gap looks higher in that photo. It looks dead even from this angle.

I love it and I don't.

I went to town on the paint when I first got the car. The hood was pretty bad and it's still pitted from all the rock chips. Evidently I cut down into the paint because the metallic sheen changes at different places on the hood. One of these days I'll get the hood repainted and a performance-style or M-Sport front bumper.

I like the perf shift knob - but definitely keep the original in your stash just in case. Looks good!

Here's my update for yesterday (and a few scattered days beforehand). I still don't know how to properly orientate images with the forum uploader so imgur it is!

Got everything I need for the 135i cluster swap. Cleared the VIN out of the old one so just need to swap it in, code it to my VIN, then calibrate the needles.

One of the front calipers I bought for my brake upgrade had a fused brake bleeder nipple. I eventually broke it and failed to extract it 😔. I ordered another caliper that came in yesterday and tore it down successfully. Just need to deep clean the calipers and then ready for paint!

Wife's car got a little screw in one of the tires so I plugged it up. Fingers crossed it holds air for our trip to Iowa this weekend. I aired up the spare just in case... she needs new tires before winter anyways.

Installed the updated homelink module in my mirror to control my garage doors. Much better solution than the repeater that I bought previously.

I broke the little coin off of the glass when trying to take the mirror off, so had to re-glue that to the glass. Pretty easy to do, but just a pain.

Cool. Good to know. So did you end up buying a new module from a newer car to be able to control the garage door?
