The lack of responses is because there is no specific answer. It depends on the track, the particular car, the driver, and the tires.
Somewhere between stock and the max pressure on the sidewall. Running the fronts a bit more than the rears is a good conservative choice until you see what the balance of the car is. If it's your first track day, this is not really that important. You have much bigger fish to fry, like figuring out the line, the braking/acceleration points, and executing. Not running into anyone/anything. |

Cheaper way: Get a tire marker (white) and a tire pressure gauge. With the marker, draw some lines over the sidewall to tread area on all corners. Post session check that you haven't rubbed off marker past the tread area down the sidewall. Check your tire pressure and keep it under your max tire pressure rating when HOT. In general on our car you can run from 28-38psi cold dependent on tire size, brand, temp, brakes, driving style, etc. Don't let the tires get above 44psi HOT (give margin to your max). For wider tires and camber (I run 285's, I generally start at 31 all around and try to keep to 37 hot), for more stock sizes you need to go up in pressure to keep the tire from rolling over on it's side. Stock with RFT I used to run up to 44 HOT. |

Toyo triple 8's should not be allowed to get over 40 psi when hot. They'll get greasy at this point. A lot depends on track temp and turn configuration (amount of scrub due to turns). If it's morning, I'd start around 30 - 32 and see how they heat up after the first session. Then adjust from there during the day. I run these Toyo's on my E36 M3 track car and love them.

I aim for 36-38PSI HOT on my EP street tires ... Looks like its a good ballpark for R-Comps as well ...

Whos hosting the event? Which day? Is it infield only or the roval plus infield? +1 on cold pressure of about 30. Just as a note the 888's are not what you want , use the Toyo RA-1's for track. They last and are excellent tires down to the cord. IMHO. |

Speed ventures is hosting the event and im going on Saturday. They are using both the infield and royal plus track. I get your point on the tires but i just heard such great reviews about the grip of the R888 and I had the money to blow.

You will love that layout. Been many times with PCA. I will try and make the November date. Just a quick fyi, The 888's replaced the RA-1 , then because of complaints the RA-1 was brought back. Let us know how it went! Have fun.
