I deleted my previous post. Might have hold the connector the wrong way when measureing, haha.
But anyways, here's the one I bought. http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=21 |

While I'm waiting for e-sys to install on the other computer, I'll think I'll check the Diagnostic Port fuse.. If there is a fuse for that one? remember I had an fuse for that in my old E46.

OBD had fuses 18, 28 and 42 (Fuse Box in engine bay. In case someone was wondering). All good.
EDIT: I have now tryed with another computer with a fresh install of E-sys. And the problem still remains. Nothing happens on computer when plugged to car, and no link light in the RJ45 port on the computer.. Do I need to set{configure a new wired connection? Any good guides to troubleshoot the OBD port in the car? Fuses was good. Find it hard to belive that the OBD port is bad... Last edited by Sleepwalker; 05-02-2015 at 09:27 AM.. |

Could It be power issues? I have my car running while trying to make a connection, It reads 14,3 at the battery posts. So it should be enough.
Is battery charger a better way to go? Don't have one, so haven't been able to try. There is only one obd port in our cars, right? (drivers side foot well) |

Is your LAN Adapter taking a 169.254.xxx.xxx IP Address when connected?

Is it the wireless connection set to off? Try to use (from command prompt) ipconfig, and check what ip address is setup from the lan adapter, as showed by shawn it has to begin with a local area network ip range family. |

Basically, are you sure the Ethernet port (RJ45) on the laptop is working? |

I do not ask abut the Light. I want to know if you actually checked the LAN Adapter Status to see if it has an IPv4 Address assigned.

I don't know. You need to start swapping out Laptop and Cable to narrow down where the issue is. No other way at this point.

Did some measuring of the cable again. All is good (ohmed pins on OBD connector and RJ45) except pin 4 and 5 that should be bridged according to the ENET Cable DIY. I get nothing when I ohm pin 4 and 5 on the OBD connector.

But my problem is the same with my other laptop too (Have tryed two different laptops) One is running windows 7 and the other one is running windows 8. IPv4 is set to dynamic on both of them. And both have no issues connecting to a normal wired network.

But, if it is not the Laptop, and not cable, only thing left is FEM_GW in the car. So, what you really need is another F-Series car to connect to, and see at least if problem is on car side, or cable / laptop side.
