Hmmm, nope. I can make one for less money, and with a little modification to the plastic drop in, I can make it hold x2 as much if not more. R&D on a tank like this is minimal and to charge that much for a $100 in material and a couple of hours in labor is nuts. Sorry guys, you won't get rich in this market with an over priced product that no one can justify.

Rob, worm up the welder. I'm headed toward Chicago today. Should have time to visit on Saturday if you don't have plans. Give me a call when you have time.

There is probably a reason why Advan didnt initiate a GB here themselves...which would be because they know their manufacturing costs are too high to be of interest to mostly US based forums users.

These would need to be made in China for them to be able to be reasonable price-wise. Overheads in Australia are too high for products to match US prices. A 335 would be more than double the price in Aus than the US so you could imagine the different pricing structure for things. Wages are also quite higher in Australia so the price of goods is ridiculously inflated compared to the US.

That said, there is also R'n'd that has to cost someone something. Minimal you say? Well it sounds like you have been inspired to rip off their idea . Cant say I have seen any other vendors selling a tank like this - but how long before a $200 ebay tank that exactly copies this is mass produced in Shenzhen?

Before the group buy is done, I'll have something.

That newton aero cap and flange would be $100 alone, I'm unsure of the fittings but no doubt $50 there, then to pay the wages of a fabricator for 2-3 hours work would be $300 materials another $100 anodising $80 and thats $630.

So advan are potentially making $70 on a tank...

Well good on em i say for providing the community with an Australian made and designed product with good ol dinky di aussie ingenuity!

In Australia if you were to ask a fabricator to do this yes.

Look at those welds, they certainly aren't your hobbyist type welds they have been done by a craftsman.

But hey I'm just a blabbering fool, some bloke sells two pieces of 3" SS pipe for $1100 and welds on his plaque with his co logo emblazoned on it & everyone on here raves about them.....
