I love the sound and I've been quoted £150 to replace the cats with straight pipes. How much power does a decatted down pipe give? Is it noticeable? I heard this was expensive in labour too? Many thanks Jonny |

i'm certain that is not a OEM exhaust, unless they have wield different tips on. primary decat pipe will give you arounnd 20ish bhp (quoted from n54 ). Labour rate varys, 3-4 hours should do the job, some members here had done in in Darren wood in Manchester( i can't remember who but i remember seeing it was cost less than 200 , others does it with birds near heathrow ( i was quote upto 4 hours = 400 pounds).

N55 RWD no 2nd cats in mid pipe
Jonny,
Suggest checking underneath yr car 1st as RWD n55 cars don't appear to have 2nd pair of cats in the mid pipe, see extract below from realoem. Video clip maybe of a non UK AWD N55 that does have cats in mid pipes as std. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...17&hg=18&fg=10 Dave |
