Maybe to the contrary. They may be moving cars because of discounts. I know that this is not the discount level prepandemic, but there is competition and incentives are important.

They're not really discounting though, especially on the SUVs.

I think used car prices and lower end new car prices are so high that more people are looking at newer luxury cars since the price gap is a lot smaller than it used to be.

There is a lower interest because no one has inventory to sell. Supply/demand.

Better later than never - I ran across the article and as they say proof is in the pudding - the Q2 X7 numbers are up 30% and that seems to be across the board ....

Go G01!

BMW brand passenger vehicles YTD 2021 exceeded M-B brand passenger vehicles YTD 2021. Congrats to BMW.

Above statement excludes Mini brand from BMW and Vans (Sprinter) from M-B.

Let me rephrase. Not only is it 2 months late, it already been posted and featured on the front page of Bimmerpost. Just cause you just saw this article, doesn’t mean it hasn’t been posted before.

I’ve never seen G8x sales separate from regular 3 and 4 Series so these numbers must be made up in his head.

The 4 series sales are surprisingly higher than I expected.

#1: As stated, you're late, Q2 sales were already posted on the front page in July. BMW NA Reports Q2 Sales Figures https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1838501

#2: Of course Q2 '21 sales were up for BMW (along with many other brands who reported YTD increases as high as triple digit percents), as Q2 '20 was the beginnings of Covid and national dealer shutdowns. BMW also unlike many other luxury brands, wasn't impacted as negatively by the chip shortage until closer/into Q3 as they had saved/purchased more chips.
