In a Rut--Buy or Lease another F30?

So I got the call today. My F30 is going to be bought back for "limp mode" related issues. Its a bittersweet moment. I loved this car. I did not love it when it went to limp mode.

I think it would be kind of stupid for me to buy or lease another F30, but my heart really wants to do so. I'll still have another warranty and the buyback process was really not that bad. I just don't know if it makes sense considering this issue is pretty well documented. Leasing a F30 would reduce the risk if I had said problems again.

I was considering waiting on the F32 before I bought the F30, so that would be a logical alternative.

Otherwise I might reconsider Audi again...but I really don't want to.

My 335i M-Sport was bought back and I ordered another one with a couple more options than the first one.

Got it 8/29 and so far so good.

Damn Sina, sorry to hear about your car bud. But it's like getting a free pass! They'll be inclined to keep you as a customer so you'll probably be able to get a more loaded car for the same price. F32 would be a sweet option as well. Stay in the BMW family!

Heh, I thought so...but you see I bought the car used from a guy in NYC. So...the dealer hasn't had to deal with me too much and don't have the same kind of relationship as they do with someone who bought a car from them. I really do want to stay within BMW...I still have feelings for that car lol

I asked BMWNA if they would be able to do anything for me on a new car and they said they wouldn't, but that they are repurchasing the car outright so its up to me on what exactly I want to do. I think it this point its time I just take it up with the dealer and see what they will do---I am not so certain they will be able to get me a deal like I did on this car though

Got it. That's right, I remember you got it used from NYC. Good thing is, a lot of dealers are motivated to move cars by the end of the year so it's a good time to be shopping for a new car. Best of luck bud!

Now is the time to pull the trigger. http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=926160. You should be able to start at invoice, plus or minus. On f32 start at invoice and go up maybe to $750. Check out Valencia BMW for one. Internet mgr Robert Grass does some great deals and he is straight and to the point; no bs, no haggling. Robert: Grassr@autonation.com, tele 661-200-9111.

PS: assuming you are in L.A.

No chance i would get another one.How stupid would you feel if you got another lemon? How will BMW learn anything if everyone keeps supporting them? Same with HPFP issue. Known issue and people kept buying them......I don't get it.

did you get a better deal than if you were to sell the car on your own, also how was the bmw on pricing of the other one, did they use bmw invoce or equivalent to ED invoice pricing?

thanks

I think you could get a great deal on an f30/32...if you loved the car, you should definitely go find one thats perfect for you. For me personally I cant picture any other car in this class I could drive over this. Other bimmers may be good choices too, the x5 msport looks great, and the 2 is definitely gonna be a winner, just dont go to audi or benz, you will end up hating yourself

basically on Monday they'll make a decision if they are buying it back, my car had many issues, like blower motor, numerous software problems with ASS, panic button, exhaust actuator motor, window motor, fan blowing very loud sometimes but no codes showed up , fuel pump, fuel pump module, fuel problem very low mpg, car still shaking when idle, i asked did they help you out ie good deal on another one after the buy back , i am asking people around if they got a good deal, or better than if they were to sell it on their own, oh and also my car has been in and out of shop around 30 days

WTF. I know that this is a BMW enthusiast site but honestly, if I had an experience like that, I'm not sure I would be coming back to the brand.

My vehicle should be bought back soon as well. (The service manager has now dodged me a month). They have expressed that they do not care if I don't buy another BMW. When I called BMWNA, their service rep told me they weren't interested in the matter.

Point is: BMWNA, nor their dealerships, care about selling one of us a vehicle at a discount because we had a bad experience. They have someone else who will pay whatever is asked for that same vehicle. Seems they also don't care about customer service, since its obviously not decreasing sales.

Well, I am expecting something under invoice if I am buying this car from the dealer...anything else just really isn't a discount or a good deal for someone who has to deal with this stuff

I'd stay away from any sort of M Sport model until this is actually resolved.

I was fortunate to buy a base 335i and just added the M Performance bits...handles better than a stock M Sport, and of course, with the PPK, is quicker.

Try taking that angle, and have them port install all those parts, and see if that works for you (unless you like the body kit that much)...
