TPMS Modules

So I always thought that there was a difference between Pre-LCI and LCI modules.

But I just bought a set of rims that came off a LCI and went to look up the part # for my 2007 and found that RealOEM now shows that Pre and LCI use the same TPMS module.

Anyone got any details?

I have a short story -- sold my non-LCI e91 to close friend, but the deal was for me to keep the e91 wheels for my daughter's '11 e90, and put her wheels on the wagon. You can guess what happened -- the TPMS modules would not sync on either car. So, the wheels had to stay on their respective vehicles. I don't think that solves your problem. I was lazy about it and had the mechanic install correct TPMS's when I had tires replaced.

Or just code out the TPMS and use FTM instead.

I've owned two 2006 E90s and both use the FTM. I recently got an 07 E93 and was wondering what these black boxes were mounted on the plastic fender lining then realized they're the TPMS readers. I'll leave it alone until one of the sensors goes out, then I'll code it over to FTM for the simplicity.

I think I figured it out... but RealOEM makes it seriously fracking hard to decipher some parts.

They switched mid 09 or mid 10 or something. It wasn't exactly at the LCI switchover date. For example my N55 car used the new style but my current early 09 uses the pre LCI ones
