Question about reading code

My mom's Altima has the SES light on. My dad suggested I take it to Autozone and have the code read. I had no clue they would do this. The guy read the code and gave me a printout with the code and possible reasons for the issue. Did he just do for free, what I pay $60-$100 bucks for at my indy? Is this considered a diagnosis, or would the diagnosis charge be for more detailed investigation? As in, checking out all possible problems and determining which issue is causing the code. I have had my indy read and clear a code for me once at no charge when I had a glitch of some sort.

Also, as a side note, I picked up some Lucas to run through the tank in hopes this may help. I know a lot of y'all have really good things to say about this product.

Common practice, but may be of limited use. For example, telling you that it may be Oxygen sensor related may not do much good if your car has 4 oxy sensors.

What was the probable cause indicated?
How many miles on the Altima?
What symptom are you hoping the Lucas takes care of?

Probable cause was:
1) ignition system fault
2) fuel system fault
3) vacuum leak affecting one cylinder
4) engine mechanical condition

She has about 130k on it. As far as the Lucas, just thought it would be a good idea to run some through regardless of what the issue is. She only drives short trips and about 5k total a year so I figured it wouldn't hurt to run a bottle and maybe clean things up a bit.

lol about #3

what you listed is basicaly the entire car.... what your indy does is,

check the code
then test the sensor, the wires to and from the sensor, then the computer. thats why you pay him 60-80$
