F31 316D upgrade to 320D?
Hi! I'm pretty noob when it comes to newer gen 3-series, and I currently have an F31 2013 mod. It's chipped from 116hk to 184hk. I'm okay with the effect, but I feel like I want to invest more in it. Obviosly, for fun, not because I'm reasonable Also, it's really difficult to sell a 316D without losing quite a bit, so I decided to hang on to it and make it more fun for myself.
So, as I understood, the engine block is the same in 316 as in 320, but has a smaller turbo and smaller nozzles? What would I need to swap besides those and turbo for it to become a "real" 320? Which I can then push to produce around 215hp? |

It looks like the fuel pump and fuel rail is different too. Use realoem.com to verify other parts.
Turbo, complete fuel system, and who knows what else. You can decide if it's worth it to you.

215hp is virtually the same as the 325d. Ehich has twin turbochargers (rather than a single twin-scroll turbo that the 320d has) and a bigger intercooler to start with.
An when you come to sell it, you'll still be selling a 316d - and all the modifications will be more likely to deter buyers than pull them in. |
