Thought it was going to be another airbag problem again and was going to roll my eyes.

I have the same question. Is M4 in it? The BMW NA website didn't pull up any recalls for mine. Built Jan 2015.

At least it's not a Takata shrapnel filled air bag issue.

Since this is a software fix what is the likelihood that new cars manufactured during that time period but still in the possession of BMW would have had the correction taken care of before release to the customer? I picked up in Germany at the Welt my sometime in late February built 4 series convertible after the end of the first week of March. If the fix was not made in Germany would the VPC in California take care of it before it goes to the dealer? Right now the vehicle is on the boat heading to the VPC and should hit landfall in approximately three weeks. Would a dealer be allowed to release a new or redelivered European Delivered vehicle to a customer in the U.S. without having the fix taken care of first?
I guess the more practical issue at this point is, assuming the software update has not been done, is my redelivery process going to be delayed either by VPC having to hold it longer to take care of the fix or the dealer having to schedule it before I can pick it up on redelivery? Assuming it can and will be taken care of at the VPC anyone have an idea how much time it will take to accomplish the reprogramming for each individual car and whether the VPC has the manpower with the training to do it on a speedy basis?
