Rear Ended back bumper scratch - help please

Greetings,

I got rear ended today at a stop light from the side while I was at an angle about to make a right turn = so he only clipped my drivers corner of the bumper. What can I expect the estimate will cost to sand and repair ? I have insurance and so does he, just wondering because he said if it is less than 300, he will just pay me, and if it is over, we will go through insurance.

Please see attachment. You can only see the black spots and deep scratch, but between between the two black deep marks there is many scratches from the accident.

There is no other damage really. or any dents, but I am still taking it for an inspection next week.

Thanks

Silver is a tough color to match perfectly. If you want to repair it with a touch up professionally, it shouldn't cost more than $300 like the previous poster mentioned. A full respray may be around $500-900 depending on who you go to.

I was stopped at a red light. The guy behind me decided he needed to go before me. Only left 2 bolt holes from his license plate holder. Aftermarket rear bumper (non-metallic) and paint cost ~$1250. Remember in your calculation that you will be without a car for a day or 3 while this gets repaired, so you will need a rental included in that $300 price.
