18" tire/wheel questions

I just purchased some 18" wheels for my e90 LCI Msport pkg.

Fronts are 8" wide with an et of 20
Rears are 9" wide with an et of 22

They are pretty flush. I like how it looks.

The current tires on the wheels are 235/40/18 rear and 215/40/18 front.

First question, I noticed that the sidewalls of the front and rear are quite different, the rear tires are about a half inch (or maybe a little less) taller total. Would it be bad to run these sizes with the tires being so different in diameter?

Second, if I replace the tires with the stock sizes 255/35/18 and 225/40/18 do you think I would be able to lower the car without rubbage?

I would like to go an inch or so lower to kill the gap and if I need to keep the slightly stretched tire sizes, I will, but as it sits, they seem weird looking with the sidewall heights being different. I would prefer to not mess with rolling the fenders if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone else running a similar setup? Don't want to buy things to have them not work out.

Never mind. I'm just going to do a 245/35 on the back tires, leave the fronts, and call it done.
