Aftermarket replacement for the OEM headlights on a 145i (OEM ones have design flaw)

My daughter has a 135i and she's had a terrible time dealing with the melting on the back which causes her her headlight warning symbol to come on a d her indicators to flash quick.

That coupled with the oxidation of her lenses on the headlight itself has me thinking about looking for after market solutions for this flaw in BMWs design.

Has anyone had any luck replacing their headlights with non BMW headlights? She has OEM Hids which puts a bit of a wrinkle on the mix. I'm trying to avoid super cheesy looking aftermarket Solutions.

Am I just way in left field here or note the bullet and buy new OEM headlights knowing in a few years she's gonna have to deal with the melting in the back of it again

Ah I think you're in left field, something is wrong, that is not typical. The rear headlight cover should not be melting.

There's no design flaw, there's probably a short with the wiring failed resistor or there are aftermarket components in the housing which are running hot.

It's the housing for the indicator. I thought it was a well known issue (I'm prob describing it all types of wrong)

Definitely not common.

If you want to do anything I'd just pick up some used headlights/harness and start fresh.

I replaced my factory headlights with the Valeo units to replace my xenon lights with new
(bmw part# 63127164931 & 63127164932)

That was back in 2020, a month short of 4 years ago and they still look & work like new

You can just google the part numbers in the post, adding the key word valeo if you want, but they're about the most popular replacement brand (think they make the OE versions).
here are a few random goodle results for one side-
(Mine came from ECS back in 2020, 'bout $1,450 for the pair back then)
