330 Intake Manifold! Convert your 325!
To all, I gave up. To make your car a 330 you need: 330 Intake Manifold 2 Manifold Actuators/Flaps 330 ECU Programming to make the ECU work (dealer computers) I am selling the manifold and actuators (already installed) I dont have time, nor wish to buy a 330 ECU when I am going to have this car for less than a year. Someone take on the project! Asking $600, Ill cover shipping. Note that you wont find a junker one (because most likely its attached to a motor) and I hear that BMWNA will not sell one without a VIN. Even at my price, its much less than what I paid for it. EDIT: Hunter999 you know you want it! |

Junk yard ECU *may* work, or the dealer. Some people have friends that work at dealerships, or have a good dealership relationship, and can get it programmed there.
Warranty? who knows. This mod is NOT for the faint of heart. |

how about everyone pools money to someones paypal's account that we trust so that someone willing to get this and install this on their car as the experiment, and if it works, they get a 330! for free!!! which will open doors to the rest of us!

I will almost guarantee that it will void your drivetrain warranty. The 325 and 330 have different transmissions. The 325 tranny is not built to withstand the extra power the 330i has.
If a problem does arise, I could easily see how the dealership will point to your intake manifold... |

Not me! I won't do it till I hit 40k on the old odometer! But, I'll put some money to the cause!
I am so amazed that no one HAS EVER done this! What is the big set back? can you not order a 330 ecu? do they need a vin? |

I would imagine the ECU is not cheap. My opinion is that if you are worried about warranty, this mod isn't for you.
Don't forget that the 325i and 330i have different axle gearing, the 330i's being taller. I'm real curious to see why (mechanically or electronically) the upcoming 328i has HP/torque rating smack in between that of the 325i and 330i. |

People here are talking about forced induction, and you guys are worried about tranny stress? Not nearly enough to make a difference.
Im curious if the 328 is either : a tuned up 325 (single stage manifold) or a tuned down 330 (3 stage manifold) This is still for sale. If you have a 325, and really want some more power, this the only way to fly. ECU is about 900, so you are talking $1500 total, which is pretty cheap for BMW horsepower. |

I really doubt that little 40hp can stress the tranny
