Hi All,

Need to replace my Tires. Currently have Pirelli CINTURATO 225/45R18 91V. Dealer is giving a Quote almost around$1500 including service.

Do we need to get the Wheel Alignment also done at same time when we change tires ?

Could you please let me know where can I find good deals.

The Pirelli CINTURATO did not last long with only 11K use, so I ended up switching to Continental ContiProContact run flats which also came with this car. The continental tires drove and lasted better and also looked better on the rim.

Each new tire was $280 balanced and installed with a $30 3D alignment from my local tire shop.

if your vehicle is tracking straight and "true" and the wear pattern on your current tires is even and reasonable(you need to know about tire wear patterns), alignment is not absolutely necessary.

however, since you're your investment in new tires is not cheap, it is always highly recommended to assure suspension geometry is back in specification for optimum tire wear and performance, since it may have changed slightly with poor roads and potholes that exist in most areas nowadays.

as far as good deals...discount tire?, costco?, sam's club?

I recently got a set of Michelin CrossClimate 2 for just about $1k installed. I didn't bother with an alignment as the old Continentals showed no signs of uneven wear, and the car runs perfectly true. I keep a close watch on them as I rotate yearly, usually with no more than a 4k mile interval.
I just took my first long trip with them, they ride and handle great, and the six inches of fresh snow I had to deal with when I got home didn't faze them a bit.
