First Problem
I have a 2008 E90 with 36,400 miles on the clock. It's been running without any issues until now. My drivers side door lock doesn't work with the keyless remote. I've searched on here and it sounds like the actuator that went bad. I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow at 9:00 AM. My car is CPO'd until 2015. Anyone else have this problem?

I had this problem before and it was no biggie. I brought my car to the dealer and they replaced the faulty actuator under warranty. Never had a problem with the actuators again. It is a common issue with these cars.

Yeah I had this problem back in January, both driver and passenger door actuator needed to be replaced. Took it to the dealership and paid $900+ (After a 10% discount). I almost collapsed after I saw the bill lol. When I looked at the statement, the actuator cost $80 each for two and labor was some ridiculous amount at 5 hours of work to complete this job.

My car was in the work bay closest to the garage door so I watched the guy install the actuator. It looked like a pain in the ass to do. It only took him 1.5 hours for one side. I bought the double kit so now I have the second actuator as a spare. Reading on this forum, this seems to be a problem. To top it off, it was not covered under my CPO warranty. |
