2013 335is With 19" T/W Option - 275's Fit?
Greetings,
Was curious to know if anyone has replaced their 255/30/19 with a wider tire...say 275/30/19. Any problems with rubbing? Any modifications, i.e., fenders rolled, lowered, wider wheels, spacers, etc? Any problems with running "Run Flats" in the front and non-RF's in the rear? I plan to keep the original 19" wheels, but would like to add wider tires to the rear only. Thanks for your suggestions or advice. |

I have the performance 269 wheels, with 275/30/19 P Zeros. I have an aggressive drop and the wheels don't rub. If you put spacers then you'll have problems.

I have 10" in the rear on 275/30/19 hankook ventus v12. Lowered on KW v2 with barely one finger space. No rubbing so far, previous owner of the wheels didn't have any issues.
Running mixed rft and non rft is not recommended although I've never tried it. |

Your going to keep the stock rims and out wider tires? If that's possible I shall be doing that.

There's a guy on here, BuraQ, that runs 275's on his factory 19 335is wheels. I'm running some Aluflugen CSL reps on mine (leftovers from previous E90) with 245's in front and 275's in back with no problem, no rubbing, no spacers.

Response
All,
Thank you for your responses/suggestions. According to a local "tire shop" a 275 should fit, however, the new wider tire will be slightly taller. According to the Wheels and Tires Forum tire/wheel calculator, the speedometer will also read slightly lower than your actual speed. Thanks again all. I may have to re-think the 275 and perhaps, go with a 265. The main reason for putting on a new wider tire is simple. The lease is up in two years. I don't think the OEM 255's will last till the end of the lease. I'm expecting BMW Financial will want Run Flats on the car during the final inspection. Replace now, store the RF's and re-mount the RF's before the end of the lease. Semper Fi |

More pics
Nice, more pics of these tires on your 19's please! I don't need new rears yet but I'm sure I will every 12K - 15K miles. So non-runflats on our 19's is no problem?

No problems. The new Bridgestone's are non-run flats. I did purchase a fix-a-flat kit from Pep Boys (includes a small compressor and tire goo) just in case of a flat. The new tires are a little more comfortable than the stock run-flats. Not as stiff. Handling seems to be about the same. However, I'm not really impressed with how the 335is handles. The handling does not inspire confidence nor does it seem like a car on RAILS. I do love the straight line performance, exhaust note and overall styling. I've attached a photo of the new tires vs. the original run-flats. Semper Fi |

Thanks Semper, good to know we have that option. I am happy with my cars handling, I guess it really depends on what you are comparing it to. A Ferrari? Compared to my M3 and especially my 335i MSport this car handles great!! We have a really fast highway up here (280) and it's like the autobahn on the way to work every morning for me!

Last car was a Porsche Cayman S...handling was incredible. Might have to switch brands when the lease is up - a C7 might bring back memories of great handling. Re: 280. I've made that commute (SF - Palo Alto) for years...yes, they do go fast. But, not as fast as the autobahn...now, that's commuting speed. Semper Fi |
