Congratulations on your new black car! Taking care of its paint is definitely a priority. You're right that using generic cotton towels might not be the best choice, as they can potentially cause micro-scratches on the paint.
When it comes to towels for drying and waxing your car, microfiber towels are your best bet. They are designed to be gentle on the paint and won't leave behind fibers or scratches. Look for "lint-free" or "scratch-free" microfiber towels |

Rapiddry towles these are the best, but i recommend buying two or three of the small ones they can be managed better, I have the large one but never use it just the small ones. I also use waffel weave in conjunction and they work perfect.
