i'm getting 8.5L per 100km from my 335D (70% town). you will find none of us will ever meet the quoted figures not even if you try.
it's quite a heavy car and with you mostly driving in town, it doesn't help. |

I'm getting very close to the EPA figures. Part of it has to do with my recent switch to MolyGen oil and Ceratec additive, which gave me an additional 2 MPG. I don't know if it was just the oil, just the Ceratec, or the combination of the two, but whatever the reason I'll take it.

I'm due to have a look at my total since I do keep track of each tank ... but without running all the math I'd estimate that I have averaged about 26 mpg over the first 50,000 miles. Maybe a smidge over. 328xi.

I see it is an old thread but I stumbled upon it while searching information. I have the feeling that my fuel consumption is a bit out of order.
I have a GT with 320i B48 engine and I average 14L/100 (city); 9.5/100 (urban) For the US that is 17 and ~25mpg. For the UK respectively ~20 and ~30mpg. A thing to note is that it is a manual transmission. Additionally, my BC is way off charts. According to it the figures are 10.9l/100 city and 7.5l/100 urban, but that is not the case. (US 21.58/31.36mpg; UK 25.9/37.6mpg) I did recently upgrade it with a BM3 Stage 1 tune, but to be fair there wasn't much of a difference before that in terms in fuel efficiency. FWIW, my US-spec 2015 335i GT automatic, with just under 90k miles, gets 22-24 mpg city (10.2L/100km), with winter fuel formulation getting the lower, while summer formulations get the higher mpg. Highway mileage is 30 mpg (7.8L/100km) in the winter and 32 to 33 mpg (-7.5L/100km) in the summer, at 75 to 80mph. I use LiquiMoly and change oil once per year, I have a company vehicle, so I only drive my personal vehicles about 6k miles per year. YMMV.

My 2016 328 GT (just hit 100K mi) averages 27 mpg. I drive some highway for my commute, but more than half is back roads. Initially I got closer to 25 mpg, but maybe using Molygen and Ceratec helped or the change in tires.

Question to everyone who had posted here already: Are you listing the numbers that are typ shown on the dashboard or are you calculating this number per actual amount of gas that went into the tank vs miles or km driven?

My calculations are from only using the same station (and nearly 90% of the time, the same pump) and using the amount of fuel put into the tank when the pump shuts off when "full". I do not "top off", and I do not include times when I fill up at other stations (different pumps do not always shut off at the same levels, some may allow more fuel into the tank, and some allow much less, which can alter the calculation).

I calculate it manually every so often using mileage and fill-up gallons. It does vary a bit of course, but the # on the dash is close to the calculated average.
