what do I need to do to fit a 285 tire rear, pre lci

Hey folks, I already have fendors rolled in the rear but max I could fit was a 265 (pss), what do I need to do to fit 285, I understand the body has to be cut, how much are we looking at ballpark ? And lastly is it worth all the work ? Lol

Proper offset and a gentle roll. I have 275 Hankoock v12 g2's with no roll. Adding 10mm wouldn't be a problem.

PSS is a lot bigger than Hankook. I'm running 295 Hankooks with a mild pull but I don't think I could fit 285 PSS without some more work. Can't remember my offset but rim/tire actually rubbed on strut before a little work and it rubs on the fender over big bumps.

What wheel are you running? It's a huge factor when fitting a big tire out back.
I just took off my M4 wheels (18x9 +29 f, 18x10 +40 r) and you could easily fit a 285 on there. I ran 275s with a 10mm spacer. Wheels are for sale if you're interested

These are the wheel's I'm running with my 275's in the rear and 245's up front. Fits easily with no chance of rubbing on my setup. And I haven't rolled my fenders at all...

I run 285 V12s in the back without fender work, but it's an E90 which has a little more room than E92.

I run 275/30 PSS's in the rear of my pre-LCI E93 with zero rub, slightly lowered on coilovers.
I remember FundGuy1 running 19×10.5 et43
Bridgestone potenza 305/30/19
Fender rolled

I'd like to go wider in the future.

As others have said, it is all in the wheel offset and width.

I have an e92 with 265 PSS with plenty of extra room and also have a set of 275 M/T Drag Radials that are HUGE and fit without any fender mods at all (not even a roll). I get a slight amount of rub on full compression (with the M/T's), but that is the plastic fender liner, not the fender, and only because of how tall the tires are.

I think you may be able to get away with just trimming the fender to bumper transition. That's where it rubs most - I think I could run a 305 if I trimmed that more. I ran a 5mm spacer for a while with 295 and it cleared the fender lip itself but would rub non stop on that junction area.

Oh and camber does have some impact. I'm at -1.8 for comparison.

I am running 285's on my LCI with an offset of 43, and no fender mods. Your pre-LCI should be good with an offset of 35.

What body style? What wheel diameter? Any suspension mods? Lowering? You shouldn't need to do any mods to the body at all. Roll at most. On e92/93 285/30-19 on 19x10 et 42 should pop right on. I have 305/30-19 Bridgestone Potenza RE11 on 19x11 et43. I needed a roll and stretch. Before I had 275/30-19 on 19x9.5 et35 mpss lowered 1/2" past sport suspension ride height and oem cambers with no rub. My buddy has the same but at sport suspension ride height with et33. No rubs.

while we are on this subject, does anyone make M3 style rear flares? You can buy a quarter panel from BMW and cut that up, but thats a little pricey.
Ideally, you would buy the flares, cut the original, weld on the M3 flares, paint, and then run some 305s
