Parts price OMG

A am sure there is a number of threads relating to this, but here's my latest example of BMW profiteering.

My headlight washer on the drivings side is not retracting fully so i did the research on BMMiniparts and found the part number for the spray nozzle component. As they didn't have a price on that website i went to ESCTuning and GetBMWParts and found they both wanted $35 for the part, unfortunately shipping was going to be around $40, so i though i would give a BMW Dealer a call today and found that they wanted.... wait for it... $180 inc GST.

I think for that money i will take off the existing nozzle and have a look at it before i buy a new one, maybe it's just dirty.

Did you try Schmeidmann?

I didn't try Schmeidmann, just had a look and they want USD$72 all up.

Part #:61-67-7-179-311

I may even disconnect them, it sprays when you are running the driving lights and wash your windscreen, puts water all over the bonnet etc.. which is annoying if you have just washed it.

just to qualify was the 180 including labour?? just trying to give the stealers a chance

I would say add in some more goodies to the cart, that's what I always seem to end up doing when in your situation

Get a price off Bmmini as you might find they are cheaper than the US.

+1 for bmminiparts- great prices and fast postage (3 days)

I was quoted $110 (excl. installation) for a h10w angel eye light bulb from a dealer...went to Autoone the next week and picked one up for $8.

If you quote the part number, surely there is the option to buy the parts with trade discount?

That will get you 10%, whereas most of the os suppliers will save you 50%
