Nitron elec-TRON

For those that do not know we have been involved with Nitron and Inertia Laboratory (one of their US distributors) for the last couple of years having developed custom kits for multiple BMW platforms. Right now for the F8x we have developed our versions of their R1 (single dial adjustment) and R3 (3 way) kits that they build for us to our specifications (valving, springs, etc). Very excited to share they have some really amazing products in the pipeline that will be available soon.

The biggest thing Nitron has had in the works has been their new elec-TRON line. These are designed to work with the factory programing (EDC in this case) and down the line Nitron's own controllers. For the F8x there is three options: the road kit and then electronic versions of the R1 and R3.

Once we have our hands on each of the kits we will absolutely do what we did for the traditional R1 & R3 - optimize them perfectly for these cars. For those that wish to either retain the factory EDC or eventually step up to even greater control with utilizing Nitron's controller these will be the ultimate options.

Nitron also has their front axle lift (FAL) system arriving soon. They will work on any of the R1 & R3 variants (traditional or elec-TRON) and are also able to be retrofitted to an existing system. Extra ground clearance as needed - yes please!

I will continue to update this thread as more information becomes available and/or we get our hands on our test kits!

Any updates on this? An edc-enabled R3 e-tron would be amazing.

Not yet - still waiting on our test kits to arrive. Expecting them any day now as they work through customs.

So if I understand things correctly, the R3 offers electronic adjustment of low speed rebound, while high/low speed compression is via knobs on the shocks.

R1 is only electronic adjustment of low speed rebound. And the road version the same, but comes with springs and is overall softer/more compliant.

Is this correct?

Also, I’m super interested in the front height control, due to driveway clearance. Any link to additional information please?

Testing getting ready to start! Going to have feedback rolling in shortly on the off the shelf setup and then as we start the development process on our kits (if we feel like it is even needed). They will also be on display at Mpact @ COTA in our booth.
