Hello, I’m looking into to buy my first bmw and it’s a 2020 440i, I want to do some bolt on mods to it, and was wondering what piggy back I should use.

BM3 or MHD are flash tunes, not piggyback. BMW locked DME in mid 2020, so it will depend on your build date. It costs around $250 to unlock.

So I just researched when it was manufactured and it was during June 2020, how easy would the dme unlock process be?

I believe you need to remove the DME and have a capable shop do it, but I'm not real sure

for example, kies motorsports does it. you ship it to them, they unlock it and ship it back.
