Tilt down passenger mirror standard or option?

Does anyone know if the tilt down passenger mirror when in reverse is an option, part of a package, or standard on the 2009 E92? Mine does not tilt on my new 2009 E92 (yes, I've put the selector on both the drivers side and passenger side and no tilt and this has been verified by the dealer.) I only have the sports package as option and the owners manual lists it with a star next to the feature meaning its an option. But the dealer insists it should tilt and has ordered a whole new mirror.

So anyone have E92 where the mirror doesn't tilt?

I think it's part of the premium package.

The tilt down passenger side mirror depends on whether you have the power memory seats.

I don't have the premium package or the memory seats. Funny, because the dealer said that all 2009 coupes have the tilt down feature. But I think you guys are right because I find it odd that a brand new car with no miles on it would already have something broken.

Now I'm confused.

Does anyone have an e92 that doesn't have tilt down mirrors?

CubanJJ09, may I ask if your owners manual lists the tilt feature with a star next to it?

Thanks.

+1.

All 335's come with HID headlights and powered seats and tilt down passenger side mirror.

The loaner 328 and 325 sedans I've had didn't have powered seats or tilt down mirror as they were base models.

Ahh. Okay. That makes sense. I guess my dealership doesn't know their own cars.
Thanks for the help.

That's such a useless feature.

Could be useful if parking in the city or against a curb, but I shut mine off personally.

I'm not sure if it's model or package dependent...My '08 E92 with sports & premium does it. However, my fiance's E90 (06 330i) has only the sport pkg with leatherette, and the passenger mirror goes down in reverse.

I hope BMW is not pulling small features out due to bad economy!

If you have the sport package, you have memory seats and hence have the tilt down mirror

Tilt down mirror is part of premium package.
And I guess if non-ZPP 335i has that feature, I can only assume it is the freebe stuff for 335 only.

I have an '09 e92 335 with sport package and NO-premium package and my passenger's door mirror tilts down. I think it's for the 328 that you must have the premium package since even the memory seats its an option.

Remember your mirror switch must be on the driver side adjustment for the mirror to tilt down.

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet.

The OP is not asking about adjusting the passenger's side mirror. He is asking whether the "tilt down feature" (i.e., when you put the car in reverse the side mirror tilts down) is included in a specific option or if its standard with the car.

Again, I'm not sure about the 328, but for the 335 with sport package the sidemirror tilts down when you put the car in reverse.

On e92 328 , you need power seats (either premium pkg or stand alone option) to get tilt down mirror. 328's can come with manual sports seats which is probably what you have, right?

It seems like all 335's have the feature but not all 328's do? I don't want the dealer to install a new mirror if it isn't necessary.

I guess if someone who has a 2009 model without the premium package could chime in whether or not their mirror tilts I would be very grateful.

Thanks
