Well the Grey is a personal colour choice of mine (colour of my first BMW and reminds me of pure metal silver) and it would almost guaranteed be a 1 of 1 F30 with no one else doing that colour.

In Canada the July units are already preordered and the next available RWD 340i with a 6MT is August, plus I`d like to do a euro delivery (:

This explains a lot, co-worker of mine recently complained that no manual was available on configuration on BMW Canadian web site. I remember looking not so long ago, and they were available.

Yup. For some reason to get a 6MT you have to go through the dealer

It depends on the upholstery. I view it as a pair. Arctic Grey with red leather would be my first choice and ruby red with white leather would be my second.

I hear ya. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference. Plus, if the Grey matches up with your interior of choice, that's a definite plus!
Like I said, I'm just of the opinion(and only an opinion, lol) that there's plenty of grey/silver bmw's out there (I know, not THAT specific finish, heh) what with arctic silver, mineral grey, etc.
The Oxford Green would look awesome, tho
Good luck with the build, I'm jealous you're getting the LSD put on before delivery!

That really sucks. I put my order in for the 2018 440 last week & its on the delivery schedule for June at the PCD. Already got the date conformation from PCD.

PCD with port installed parts also tends to slow it down.

Nah, the unicorn would be a manual RWD M240i; that's a car.

With the new 3er just around the corner, wouldn't buy an F30 right now at all.

I'd go red. Oh, wait...

I was debating between the green, San Merino and Ruby Red when I ordered.

I saw the green on an M6 with what I think was amaro interior and it looked amazing. It was over ruled by Mrs B saying it looked a bit of an old man colour and thinking about it now, I'm not sure how long it would have been before the novelty had worn off.

I saw plenty of M6s in San Merino and in a way that's what put me off. I wanted something rare.

I saw a 4GC in Ruby Red and was sold!

Based upon your other choices, it seems to come down to personal preference. I would say the purple was too showy and would attract every boy racer to have a go at the traffic light Grand Prix. The grey isn't showy enough for what it would cost and a grey car isn't a rare sight. Green, obviously an old man colour choice so Ruby Red it is

If you can afford the custom color. You can afford an M3.

Haha, love your wagon mate! I gotta say it is an awesome colour choice! Yeah, honestly as soon as I think I have a colour I like picked out I second guess it and start from the begining, but I might just go with Ruby Red.

Oxford Green is the first choice followed closely by Ruby Red II. Either way can't go wrong.

The green would be super unique and stand out considering you don't see many green BMW's in general.

This has come up before. M3 pricing gap varies based on market. In the US, a full sport equipped 340i is very close to an M3 without options that has all the sport and more included. Only option I would select on a US M3 build would be the adaptive headlights. I would skip the gadgets and unless you track it, the ceramic brakes are pretty pricey.

Correction: it is now a bit farther apart as the sport package has been made standard with the 340i.

Green. All the way. That or a blue like tanzanite (though I know it wasn't in your list) were my top couple choices when I was trying to justify the individual paint price. In the end, I decided $5000 for paint was just too outrageous for me to want to pay for.

And on the M3 vs 340 debate.. There is a price difference, and it's noticeable. But if you're buying a 'stripped-down' track car, the M3 has a lot of other benefits in suspension adjustability and other areas.

Bingo. Yeah in Canada individual paint costs $7,130 - but this is being "covered" by my taxes. I want to build a car I can keep for a long time and enjoy driving before autonomous cars take over and manual transmissions are relics of the past. As for the M3 debate, it's too track focused. I like daily driving fun. I had a ZHP that was probably the best BMW I have, and will ever own.

I definitely understand. I have a bit of that concern with an M3 for a daily as well, that it would lack the comfort that keeps my girlfriend interested in long drives in the countryside (and make it bearable on shitty Ohio city roads during commutes). She likes the fun bits, but given that it's a 2-hour drive each way to get there, that's not as fun if the ride is too harsh.

Plus, M3 isn't offered with AWD, and as my only car, having a snow beast was fun this winter. I still haven't really driven the car without the snow tires, it only recently got warm enough to take them off, and it's been at the dealership for more than a week to fix the AC.

Edit: Also, if you like greens:

Yes, I know it's on an audi, but the color is actually from Bentley: Verdant Green Pearl-effect. I love that color.

It took me a while to narrow down my choices, it's hard as you have to try and picture the car you're getting but relying on photos of older cars or different models. In the end it's a bit of a leap of faith but I don't think you can go too far wrong!

I currently drive a 328i, which I'll keep as the daily, but I want to build the most unicorn, of unicorn F30's. I'm opting for a RWD 6-speed 340i. I've spec'd mine with Premium Enhanced, M-sport, M-sport performance, merino dash, and a factory/dealer installed M-Performance LSD. The interior is Amaro Brown with carbon fiber trim. My build date is set for late August.

Now I need help picking an exterior colour, I'm tied between these four:

My Choices are Oxford Green Metallic, Mora Metallic, Ruby Red II Metallic, and Arctic Grey Metallic.

Which of these colours would you pick? Personally I'm dead tied between Arctic Grey and Mora. My very first BMW was an e36 325i with a tan interior & Arctic Grey, so I'd like to pay a little hommage to it. But I'm also a sucker for Mora. And Oxford. Aaaannd Ruby.

What would y'all do?
BTW, Love the leather dash, LSD and Amaro brown. If you go green, I might have to invite myself up to see this custom beauty
