Screen stuck on "BMW" logo basic headunit (non-nav)

Hello, my 2014 335i sedan has this issue where the screen is stuck on the BMW screen and then tries to reset every few minutes but never gets past this screen. Due to this, I basically lose the ability to play the radio, settings, and phone since it is stuck in this loop.

I've been reading on what the issue may be and how to fix it but there does not seem to be a clear answer I could find online. I've read it could be the headunit, the combox, or just a CIC hard drive.

Does anyone have experience with this issue? I think I can replace the headunit myself if that's the issue. Does it need to be programmed or is it plug and play? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you are changing the headunit I'm fairly certain it will need coding. These things aren't so much plug&play.

Very common issue with these combox based Entry units.

Just a heads up that it's going to be very difficult to source a used replacement since this part had a very limited production run for just one model year so your best option at this point would be to upgrade to a NBT.

How much would it cost to fix or replace? I don't rally want to spend much since I'm going to sell the car soon.

Is this something you can help with? Do you offer repair or coding of this? Thanks.

Coding unfortunately will not resolve this issue but if you're able to purchase the parts necessary for a NBT upgrade on your own, we can help with the coding and activation as part of our Level 2 Remote Support Package.
