Car not rolling on small slope
I park in a spot with a very subtle slope. When I had an e92 it used to roll out whenever I let the clutch down. Now in my f30, it just sits there. I checked the wheels and they spin freely. Any idea what this could be?

I had a older car without hill assist, and I would use the E-brake method on hills. I don't have MT f30 but maybe you have hill assist turned on? most newer gen cars should have it

I had a manual F30 and the hill assist will hold the car for you for a fee seconds until you take off. Not sure if you can disable or code it out. Also had to get used to not being able to blip the throttle and feather the clutch when parking, reversing, and doing slow maneuvers. There are a few things they do to assist you, but I would have rather not had.

I don't know how to turn it off, maybe there is an iDrive setting.
My 6MT 435i will release ~2 sec after taking foot off of brake. Does car roll if you stop on a steeper incline and release brake? |

do it in neutral, hill assist only works if you’re in gear

in my older e36, which is manual, I don't need brake while on small inclines as well. I beleive it was in the the bearing assembly, but can't recall exactly, but BMW has some small "fins" (not sure what to call them) that assist with reducing backwards roll on slight hills; I was also curious because of same reason ...
if you can, jack up one front wheel and try spinning replicating forward and reverse movement and see if it spins as easily in both directions...should be slightly stiffer to spin in reverse... be interested if you feel it? my f34 and old e90 were both auto, so foot always on brake when stopped or neutral on inclines.. |

I thought the Fxx series had a deal that you didn't need to hold the brake in neutral (car did it for you) to assist in starting out on slopes? The automatic manual!
