Intermittent Electrical issue

X3 electrical issue.

Hello folks,
I wonder if I could pick the collective brains here regarding an intermittent electrical issue that affects my 2014 (pre facelift) X3 M Sport 30d.

I’ve owned the car since last November. In mid December, the car started to show warnings on starting the car, although not always. The steering icon would stay lit, along with the “Increased Steering effort required - drive moderately“ often with “camera support systems failure”. At this time, the steering was indeed heavy. Increasing revs would clear the issue at longest after a minute. Thereafter, the car would be perfectly normal. The symptoms never appeared after the car started after auto stop/start, and never appeared when the car is being driven. In every other respect the car has performed admirably!
We changed the battery for a correct spec battery (registered through the bimmerlink app) and after a few repeats in the first few days after the change, the symptoms did not reappear until yesterday, about a month later.
There is a long list of associated codes. I’ve attached them.
It seems to be associated with wet weather.

Any ideas oot there about where I should start looking?

Cheers

Hard to say. Couple of years ago my 2012 X3 28i started to have steering system issues random loss of power steering, a slew of fault codes, chassis stability and several others. Sometimes steering would recover after power off/on cycle, sometimes by itself. After many months of this and my clearing fault codes random issues persisted. Took car to independant German mechanic- they identified wire bundle that had rodent damage, a short to ground. Repaired wire bundle and problems solved. Something to consider..,,,

Sounds like investigating wiring to the rack might be worthwhile. Many thanks

As I recall the shop had to remove the driver side wheel well liner to identify issue and make repairs. Good luck!
