Brake Fluid service overdue..How long?

Right my car is booked in on sat for brake fluid service and oil service, but today the light came on that the brake fluid change is now over due, checked service book and yes it was done 08/02/10

so whats the tolerance here with BMW regarding this?

I know with other services your allowed a certain mileage, but what about this one as its annual?

Dont want them turning round and saying its void my warranty or worse when it comes to handing car back in June (if i do)there will be issues

Not much i can do anyway, but just wondered

**** sorry i meant 08/02/10****

Yes brake fluid is every two years, something wrong in your schedules if its asking for it again already. JUst get the dealer to sort the service schedules as it doesn't need brake fluid again already.

Personally I'd get it done (like I am) at an Indy. No way am I paying BMW that sort of money to change the fluid.

Not sure what an Indy would charge but if a dealer is doing it for £55 that seems ok. REally doesn't need done every other year as plenty of cars don't get it changed over a much longer period but a good little income generator for BMW service depts.

Was gonna say, £55 is good from BMW.

I think the bottom line is to call a dealer mate and ask. Sorry to not be more help.

Eh?

Every modern car has to have its brake fluid changed every 2 years!! Some maybe 3 years, but most are now 2 years due to complicated ABS / ESP systems that will be affected by high moisture content.

Its nothing to do with BMW.

Audi, VW, Ford, Vauxhall etc all the same.

Ok this topic is not about how long between brake fluid change or how much it costs

Just how much tollerence do they allow for over due service?

Does anyone know the answer before i have to call them up and ask

Usually about 1000 miles over a service point is ok, or at least have it booked in that timescale.

Sorry!

1 month (for time derived events) or 1000 miles (for mileage derived events) overdue is the 'official' BMW UK limit apparently IIRC.
