Because back then it was small. Even when oakenfold or tiesto was playing the main stage viewing area was not totally 100% packed. Now hours before they huge acts are getting ready to get on the main stage the area is closed off because it's totally and completely packed.

Different types of people start going after it got huge too. Used to be friendly people you could strike up a conversation with or have friendly battles with, then it turned into a bunch of psychos tweaking their faces off.


It was much more personal experience before, and now its just a commercial thing. That will get reflected in the DJ sets too. Instead of doing a sweet innovative set they may not work out or might turn out totally epic most of the DJs just stick to the stuff they know will go over well.
