FS: BBS "RG-R" FORGED silver with tires / TPMS
I am selling a set of 18” BBS RG-R Forged wheels in SILVER with Run Flat tires and TPMS. Coming off a 2008 335i (Sport package). Price reduced to $2200 pick up Wheels : GUARANTEE no bend on any of the rims, as straight as they come when new. No Curb rash. Two RIGHT rims are A prefect 10 . Only one rear right and one front right each have ONE small paint chip from mounting the tires. I have painted the chip, now you have to really look hard to find them. Almost in prefect condition. Please see close-up in photo. Front : 18 X 8 ET 35 19.0 lbs each Rear : 18 X 8.5 ET 38 19.2 lbs each Very very close to OEM offset. A total weight saving of 48 lbs over OEM 162. Because of the much lighter wheel weight, the ride with these wheels are smoother, suspension is better control especially over brick road and railway track, with the 162 it felt like they are hammering the road. The brakes grab a little harder and stop the car sooner with the same force. And the steering felt lighter. Believe it or not, a different you can easily feel and see. My av. MPG improved a little more than half a mile with this setup. Please note that my car is completely stock with no mod. Most feel Run Flat is not a good tire, but from my experience with these light wheels I can say the main problem is with the heavy OEM wheels. BMW has to make strong/heavier wheel to work with run flat tires’ stiff sidewall. http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/resul...All&sort=Brand Tires : Bridgestone Run Flat Size : Front 245/35/18 Rear 255/35/18 Please note front tires has been upgraded to 245 (two sizes large than stock) closer to a SQUARE setup, help to dial out the factory build in understeering. Condition: Guarantee no patch/tube, no feathering, no heel and toe, no camber wear, no cupping, no bubble, and not any kind of racing done on these tires. Front tires have 1500 miles and Rear tire have 6,000 carefully driven miles on them. EVEN wear across the tires.; front is like new and rear have more than 8/32 of tread life left on them. TPMS: 2008 BMW. New set cost : BBS RG-R $3100 + tax $233 = $3,333 Tires $1,378 + tax $104 = $1,482 TPMS $310 + tax 23 = $ 333 Total $5,148 Location: Irvine, Ca 92602 Price reduced to : $2,200 + Shipping (BBS center caps included) + 3% paypal Don't buy heavy OEM when you can have BBS forged for almost the same price. Prefer local buyer so they can see the prefect condition of the set in person. They are available for your inspection most time of the day. Here is my number JOE at (949) 466 8656, or PM me if your have any question. Strongly recommend anyone who is looking for performance as well as look should get these 18" light setup. This is exactly why you don’t see professional racing of any kind uses super low profile tires and big wheels. Sorry, I would only sell them in a complete set.
Don't want to risk chipping the paint on the rims while taking the tires off. Last edited by Josephkao; 11-12-2008 at 12:52 PM.. |

If you want to continue to use Run Flat tires, and up-grade your wheels, this is the set of forged wheels that you need. 11.5lbs lighter in the front and 12.5lbs lighter in the rear.
Light aftermarket cast wheel is not strong enough for Run Flat tires, that is why BMW OEM wheels are so heavy. Older BMW with non-run Flat tires' wheels is a lot lighter, at least by 5 lbs. each if not more. Your present OEM set up can be sold for about $1200, the upgrade to my set will only cost an extra $1250. $1200+$1250 = $2450 Last edited by Josephkao; 11-15-2008 at 08:46 PM.. |

To reduce understeering, I have put a pair of 245/35/18 on the front.
