This is my last Shepherd who passed away last year...I still think about her all the time, as she was a fantastic friend. She died on her 13th birthday.

I really wanted to wait, but it was very difficult not to have a dog wagging its tail as you walk in the house. So about a month later, I came home with this...and all black German Shepherd.

I know, I know, she looks like a lab...but when she thought really, really hard, she was able to at least get something that resembled a Shepherd.

This was the first day her ears stood up. She was showing me how she did it.

Eventually though, she did grow up (well, she's still classified as a puppy...)

And now she's our go everywhere dog. She loves riding in the MINI...one of her favorite things to do!

And, I do mean 'go everywhere'.

Sorry to hear about your dog, ShopVac. I like German Shepards but figured my townhouse might be too small for one. How are they on shedding?

Thanks...

The picture of the first one (traditional black and tan)...oh, she was horrid. Gobs of hair would just clump off her, all year long. Virtually impossible to keep the house clean.

This black one is really good. Not sure if it's because she's all black or what (mother was a sable shep, father was all black), but her hair is much shorter and nowhere near as thick.

get a furminator brush, its works wonders, not kidding.
