The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Beta is Incredible - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

I've been playing the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Beta on PC since it launched a few weeks ago. It has stability issues on a lot of people's PCs, but I've had a smooth experience so far and the game has just been phenomenal. This blows MW2 out of the water and has so much more depth in the overall experience.

Dude I've been playing it non-stop for the PC myself. So much, can't wait for the release. Honestly, COD never had anything on the Battlefield and Bad Company games. The vid is pretty awesome lol.

modern warfare 2 is the biggest piece of shit shooter i have ever played. i just started playing the bfbc2 demo on 360 and i love it SO much. its much more rewarding to play, it isnt frustrating, its balanced and there arent stupid gimmicks that detract from the overall experience

I hope they smooth everything out; I play the PC Beta also (sn: Linebacker). I feel like there is a significant delay when you shoot somebody and the hit actually registering. The game also reads joysticks incorrectly, so I'm forced to fly the choppers using a keyboard (ugh). The game also feels a bit more arcadey than BF2, unfortunately.

Did you play on a low latency server? I have zero lag on U.S. servers, especially servers located in LA and Dallas. The hit detection is perfect if you're connected to a decent server. When I first started playing, I connected to a UK server and had the same issue you mentioned.

Yeah... I use the "play now" button since they were having issues w/ the server browser a few weeks ago. For some reason they like to move me to UK or Russian servers.

Been play'n the beta for two weeks now (LunatikPhrng + ///M clan tag just see if I run into any ///M fans whilst playing).

Not bad so far. Definitely needs some tweak'n - I hope they work on the choppers and the hit boxes/damage. I look forward to the release in March, I'm get'n baked on just the Valdez map.

I love the chopper. Too bad joystick support is non-existent so I'm always playing w/ the throttle. If the other team is a on a roll you can definitely turn the tides w/ a chopper, assuming the pilot isn't dumb enough to focus on his rockets rather than his gunner.

i highly doubt that dude. even if you could, it would be a pita to switch between the wheel and standard control. way more effort than its worth

Man, This game is fun. I Dl'ed the Demo yesterday and played for like 2 hours. A buddy came over and we were originally going to play MW2 for a few hours, but instead we played the demo map over and over for like 3 1/2 hours. I think I'm definately getting it. There's not much that I enjoy in MW2 anymore, and new maps only last so long before going stale.

I might even trade in MW2 for it 8)

The server browser works fine now, the issues with it are pretty much gone. Look for the lowest latency server and lag issues are a thing of the past. I was getting routed with the Play Now button to French and UK servers and was extremely laggy. I connect to LA and Dallas servers and it's a flawless experience.
