no dct?
I'm surprised there isn't anything new about dct being added to the lineup considering that europe has had dct available on their "regular" models for a while. It seems like BMW will reserve the dct option to the future 335is model and of course the m models but I was really hoping that it would be an option for the regular 335i and 335i m sport.

I was surprised by this as well. I thought it would have at least been available on the Sport line or with the M Sport cars in the US.
Every BMW I've ever owned has been a manual, and I said to myself when I purchase a new F30, I'll get the DCT, and wouldn't you know it, no mention of it anywhere. In real world driving, the new 8 spd. auto is probably faster than the manual (in 335's), but I'm not sure I'm willing to give up the involvement of a manual transmission yet. I was however willing to embrace the technical marvels of a well-executed DCT for the sacrifice of some involvement, but it looks like I won't even get to make that decision after all. Fingers crossed for future F30 DCT applications... |

DCT may debut with the F32 (whether it comes to the US is another question). From my recollection, most countries that have a DCT option for the 3 series only offer it with the E92/E93. Though it may be offered in the E90 in some places.
