BMW has announced a comprehensive contingency award program for BMW cars and BMW-powered cars in the 2010 GRAND-AM series races. They have fared very well so far in the 2010 GRAND-AM series. BMW race cars took #1-2 positions in the 2010 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge and #2 in the Rolex 24 at Daytona held Jan 29-31.

Team Moore Racing has announced that it has signed Junior Strous (JuniorM3) to drive its number 2 Xtreme Coil Drilling – Shell car for the 2010 season. The 23 year-old Dutchman will drive for TMR in his second season in the Firestone Indy Light Series as part of the Shell Driver Development Program.
His first season in Indy Lights included only five starts, but an impressive two wins. A veteran of the Atlantic Championship, Strous has been a successful driver since his childhood karting days. In fact, Strous has won championships in multiple auto racing disciplines: Sprint, Regular and Endurance Racing, Drifting, and Rally. His impressive resume includes 177 race starts, 48 wins, 60 podiums, 45 pole positions, and 45 fastest laps.
Some great detailed photos of the M3 GT4, which runs in an amateur racing series with emphasis on carryover of production parts, reduced running costs, and high reliability. Notable changes to the stock M3 include carbon fiber fuel tank, front brake cooling channels, strut suspension, AP racing brakes, Akrapovic full exhaust.

As many of you may know, this past weeks F1 race in the UAE marked the end of BMWs generation long stint in F1 racing. In order to commerorate the good times, the BMW Sauber F1 YouTube channel has put up this video for all of us fans to enjoy.

RIP BMW F1 (2000-2009). Nick Heidfeld places 5th in the final race and BMW bids farewell to F1 racing. This is certainly a bitter sweet moment for everyone involved, but BMW has commited itself to other forms of racing from this point forward and F1 is taking a new direction as well. Although, BMW is racing to sell off all its remaining F1 assets, I think most of us know that BMW will probably make a return to F1 some day in the future when the stars align again (although that might be another 30 years from now..)
