Awesome meet today in a sunny afternoon in Bay Area (Palo Alto Meet). It was a fun meet to meet and get to know other local F10 M5 owners. We had a great time. First time seeing krispykreme’s Amazonite Silver M5. The color was astonishing. Great to re-unit with cnicholson after our ED meet. Barry’s car looks sharp with his H&R and spacer set up. Sanguru and Barry’s Eisenmann set-up was amazing. We also got to see wdimagineer’s AW with his M6 steering wheel, Akrapovic, HRE P40C, and other OEM euro goodies.

Last Friday and Saturday I attended the 2-day M School at the BMW Performance Center (PC) with my father and brother. It was an exhilarating weekend of insane horsepower, smoking tires, and exceptional instructors. While the cars were astonishing, the instructors did things with cars I didn’t know were possible. The speed at which they took corners, their ability to drift these hefty cars laden with 800+ pounds of passengers, and the way they handled the highly technical PC track was inspiring. The No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates TELMEX/Target BMW Riley ended 24 hours of hard fought sports car racing at the 51st Rolex 24 At Daytona in the same position from which it started: First.

Starting from the pole-position, CGRFS co-drivers Scott Pruett, Charlie Kimball, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Memo Rojas completed 709 laps in the twice-around-the-clock endurance classic at the Daytona International Speedway to secure the famous pyramid-shaped trophy and Rolex watches. The car led a total of 420 laps and set the fastest lap of the race at 1:41.177 minutes on Lap 180.

Project Fire: Version Two. In the heart of every M3 enthusiast is the desire to own a “special” M3, one that illustrates their love for everything BMW but also with their own unique flair and individualization. On Project Fire: Version Two, we made the car into a close GTS replica, with an edge.

Once we acquired the OEM M3 GTS wing, we knew the direction of the project’s new version. The AE Performance Bar in Fire Orange and RECARO SPG XLs were next, mounted using the OEM sliders and mounting positions. The Shift knob was exchanged for the Macht Schnell Nylon edition with an Active Autowerke SSK as well.

What can I say about this museum? Well… I wouldn’t really call it a museum, its more of one mans car collection of really weird stuff. As soon as you walk into the old place… the musky smell of mold and dampness and old cars greets you. This guy had a ton of “stuff”! A lot of it I must say I found really cool. 3D Design Japan has worked at a rapid pace in an effort to create a comprehensive aero program for F30 owners of all trims. The most recent addition to their F30 program is a carbon fiber diffuser that accommodates the BMW 335 split single tip as well as a carbon variant for their F30 m-sport front lip spoiler. Both the urethane and carbon front lip can be fitted with the carbon fiber under splitters.

We’ve spied the upcoming LCI facelift updated 5 Series again, and the sighting comes on the first Plug-in Hybrid 5 Series we’ve spotted. The LCI update will facelift the entire 5 Series lineup, including the F10 sedan, F11 touring, F07 GT, and the F10 M5, although the styling updates do not look to be too drastic.

EXTERIOR

The F10 LCI prototypes spotted thus far have shown slightly sportier side mirrors, with integrated turn signals (still camouflaged on previous prototypes seen). Some LCI prototypes have been spotted with a new optional LED headlights option with squared off angel eyes/corona rings. The standard xenon lights (as spotted on this prototype) will retain circular angel eyes. The tail light graphics will receive a new look.
