BMW Insider Scott says the following:
Quote: It is true both the GT and the upcoming 5er will share the same bloodline but there are noticeably different details to signify the cars are not one variant of the other , The 5er sedan is more stretched with a … CONTINUED

These latest shots are high-resolution and shot in real world lighting which I believe show off the true curves of this car that were somewhat lost in the press release photos that were under heavy lighting. Seeing the car in real world conditions confirms to ME that this car has some very well thought out styling cues and will look great from most angles. The 3er GT is about 180 degrees from the 5er GT , although they will share the same bloodline , The 3er GT is a hybrid of a Touring and a Sporting shooting brake design. To understand the design of the 3er GT you have to go back to the original RFK Concept , With this design many within BMW loved the original intention unfortunately BMW had to re-interpret it’s conception to a vehicle that would become today’s 5er Gran Turismo.
AC Schnitzer has a black E89 Z4 in its stable and the tuning house is wasting no time in starting its customization. Plans include performance upgrades, a sports rear silencer and tailpipe trims, suspension optimization, aerodynamic components and interior accessories.
German magazine Automotorundsport has put out these new renders of what the next generation 1-series could look like. It seems as though these renders are WAY off the reality of what will come. Most sources seem to confirm that the next one will take alot of styling cues from the BMW GINA concept car in some form, while these renders seem to rely on the current BMW 7-Series styling. Regardless, it did seem like an interesting attempt and worth the post.
