The new BMW X5: a fresh dimension in driving pleasure and efficiency.
Hot on the heels of its market launch, the addition of another three engines and four new model variants to the new BMW X5 line-up is set to extend the Sports Activity Vehicle’s efficiency lead over its rivals. The third-generation X5 will be available for the first time from December 2013 with a BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine and rear-wheel drive. The engine powering the new BMW X5 xDrive25d and BMW X5 sDrive25d uses two turbochargers and common rail direct injection to produce maximum output of 160 kW/218 hp and links up as standard with … CONTINUED
And here is our last set of 4 Series photos from the BMW NA launch drive event for the 4 Series Coupe, together with a walkaround video feature. These are of an Estoril Blue 428i M Sport and a black 428i Sport Line (the only non M Sport model at the event).
The black 428i was neither Jet Black nor Black Sapphire Metallic, but somewhat resembled Citrin Black Individual paint, with an orange flake. The interior was optioned with leatherette (“SensaTec”) seats with red highlights and pearl glass chrome trim finishers.
If you didn’t catch them earlier, here were our other photo sets:

BIMMERPOST member UNC M5 shares with us his 6,000 mile roadtrip with his two beasts – the M5 and his German Shephard.
The BMW Group entered a new era in automotive construction today with the start of series production of the BMW i3. The world’s first premium electric vehicle to be purpose-designed for this form of drive system is the result of an all-encompassing development approach targeted at reducing fuel consumption and emissions in urban areas. Exceptionally high standards of sustainability and resource efficiency have also been achieved in the selection of materials and production processes employed. This is the first time that carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) has been used in automotive volume production. The body structure of the BMW i3 consists entirely of this extremely lightweight and durable material, allowing the extra weight of the batteries for the electric drive system to be cancelled out. By industrialising … CONTINUED
PSI presents the BLUE DETONATION:
The baking heat of a Florida summer can warp reality. One minute, life is plodding along at a snail’s pace, and the next, a ghostly spectre rises from the shimmering landscape, threatening to redefine all that you know. Suddenly, a streak of blue passes you by with blinding speed, accompanied by a gargantuan exhaust roar. You have just been strafed by magnificence.
Fellow Floridian Matt has what might possibly be the most glorious Le Mans Blue E92 M3 we’ve ever seen, to say nothing of his house or garage, which are equally breathtaking. Spec’d in the proper 6MT/ZCP configuration, this beautiful machine features black interior trim with carbon leather in mint condition. Outside, however, is where most of the changes were made.

A disgruntled BMW M6 owner, Hadi Pourmohseni, staged a demonstration against his dealership and BMW in front of the Frankfurt IAA show by doing no other than destroying his M6 for which he could not get a fix.
Hadi said along with a letter to BMW, he brought the car to Frankfurt during the largest European auto show of the year so that he and co-batter Thomas Brunner could publicly unleash some pent-up frustration, noting that a lawsuit over the car would have taken up to seven years. (That’s Pourmohseni in the suit and axe below.)

Edmunds evaluates the incoming C7 Corvette Stingray against the outgoing E92 M3 Coupe. Not a fair fight exactly, except for price point, but they still have plenty great things to say about both cars.
BMW head of design Adrian van Hooydonk and the i8 project manager Henrik Wenders talk about the BMW i cars from Frankfurt IAA 2013.
