Harold Wood aka Roger Lighterness has been sketching up and photoshopping various BMWs for some time now, and now has come out with an interesting take on the next generation MINI.

Nothing is yet known of what the next MINI will look like, with only expectations of a car that will be very new and unique.

Testament to that fact is the recent shuffle in BMW’s design department that has seen the head of BMW Exterior Design, Anders Warming move over to become director of design at MINI. Under his leadership such cars as the Z4, 5-Series and 6-Series were released, so there surely will be some very tight and beautiful design used on the next generation MINI.

For such an important figure in BMW’s design department … CONTINUED

This image is said to be a close approximation on the looks of the upcoming BMW 1-series Gran Turismo (GT). The 1-series GT will be the next Gran Turismo model in the BMW lineup following the 5-series GT and preceding the next generation 3-series Gran Turismo model.

The 1 series GT is a mixture of a 5 door hatch and a touring shape. Rear legroom is almost on par with the 5-series sedan.

Here is another F30 3-series render, courtesy of Bimmer Magazine. The front front fascia’s more upright stance and lower bumper borrows from the current 5 and 7-series bumper. We hope the headlights come out as sleek as the ones in this render.

pair of Turkish designers, İsmet Çevik and Fatih Tezel, have come up with an imaginary BMW concept dubbed the Z5. From the looks of it, this is a mid-engined supercar intent on doing battle with the best of them.

This is not a real car, or anything that would be concievable given that BMW has already stated its own plans to shakeup the car world with the VisionED/i8 and other possible spin-offs.

Nevertheless, its a very cool design study that maintains alot of the distinct features and personality of BMW while giving an overall edgy and modern spin on the car as a whole.

What do you guys think?

Although the BMW Z2 Roadster and Z2 Coupe are not expected to debut until 2013, we should begin to see and hear more news and renderings in 2011, like this latest one from Carmagazine UK. The Z2 has been designed at Designworks and will be based on the next generation F20 1-series platform. BMW’s design philosophy is to keep the car lighweight, dynamic, and sporty by using a high strength steel body with aluminum doors and front bonnet. Based on earlier rumors, the target weight for both the Z2 coupe and roadster is 1000kg (only 2,200 pounds)! We’ll believe that one when we see it, but it’s good to hear that keeping the Z2′s weight down is a principle concern.

Here are the other previously rumored (speculative) … CONTINUED

Here is the face to the new FWD BMW Compact. The new F20 BMW 1-series Coupe and Cabrio will get something similiar which takes the car back to it’s 2002 origins. The single light is accomodated by three LED bars at the side of the main unit for increased illumination.

BMW’s evolved from single headlights to two. The design in real life , actually works quite well and gives the car a very unique identity.

The 1M coupe should be a delight from the factory, but tuners’ brains are already at work. IND has announced its plans for a 1M coupe build project, based on Jon Sibal’s conceptualized 1M with traditional 3.0 CSL-style paint scheme.

There will be no 1M convertible for this generation 1M, but a cabrio model was initially under consideration by BMW. 1addicts member Acerbus has rendered what the 1M cabrio would possibly have resembled. Quite a looker we must say.
