Roger Lighterness imagines what the striking BMW Vision ConnectedDrive Roadster concept would look like as a coupe. Bearing some resemblance to the late Z4 M-coupe (the hind quarters), we think it actually looks terrific!
CAR provides some new renders, details, and speculations on the upcoming baby BMW roadster, the Z2, and the 1-series GT. Both models are based on the UKL1 front-drive transverse architecture, standing for untere klasse in German. It’s at the core of BMW’s plans to become more efficient at making small cars. Power for the new UKL1 front-drive BMWs comes from three- and four-cylinder engines, spinning the front wheels, although four-wheel drive is enabled by UKL1 as it’s required for the Countryman. pair of Turkish designers, İsmet Çevik and Fatih Tezel, have come up with an imaginary BMW concept dubbed the Z5. From the looks of it, this is a mid-engined supercar intent on doing battle with the best of them.

Nevertheless, its a very cool design study that maintains alot of the distinct … CONTINUED
Although the BMW Z2 Roadster and Z2 Coupe are not expected to debut until 2013, we should begin to see and hear more news and renderings in 2011, like this latest one from Carmagazine UK. The Z2 has been designed at Designworks and will be based on the next generation F20 1-series platform. BMW’s design philosophy is to keep the car lighweight, dynamic, and sporty by using a high strength steel body with aluminum doors and front bonnet. Based on earlier rumors, the target weight for … CONTINUED

BMW’s evolved from single headlights to two. The design in real life , actually works quite well and gives the car a very unique identity.
The 1M coupe should be a delight from the factory, but tuners’ brains are already at work. IND has announced its plans for a 1M coupe build project, based on Jon Sibal’s conceptualized 1M with traditional 3.0 CSL-style paint scheme.
