A detailed review by a BIMMERPOST member of his M235i test drive.
When you first see the car it depends on which angle you see it from from the front 3/4 is nice. If you look at it from a dead profile it looks a little strange. Grassroot Motorsports drives the BMW M235i Racing around Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It’s a factory-built race car from BMW designed for privateers and club racers, aimed mostly at Germany’s VLN series at the Nurburgring and similar European series. BMW is entertaining thoughts of bringing it to the US, so they invited us to try it out.

BMW’s development boss has revealed the company is unlikely to offer a competitor to the Audi A3 Sedan and Mercedes CLA.
Speaking to Wards Auto, Dr. Herbert Diess [BMW board member] said the company sees little need for a sedan smaller than the 3-Series in the United States. He went on to say he sees a “high risk of substitution” where customers would buy the smaller car – presumably the 1-Series sedan or 2-Series Gran Coupe – instead of a more expensive model like the … CONTINUED

I represented BIMMERPOST at the press launch of the BMW M235i at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Here are some images I took of the M235i Racing and M235i Performance Parts cars at the launch.
I had a chance to inspect the body parts up close and I would say the quality is excellent. All of the body fitments had tight, consistent gaps, and the look was aggressive and polished. [M Performance Parts details]

A new 2002? Behind the wheel of the M235i
By Jens Meiners, BIMMERPOST Contributor
If there is a single car that has put BMW on the map with enthusiasts in the USA, it is the 2002. Derived from the “New Class” mid-size sedan, it became the quintessential compact sports sedan. In 1975, it was replaced by the 3-series – a worthy successor initially, but a car that has become remarkably large over the years. In fact, the current 3-series is almost as long and tall as … CONTINUED
