Attendees at the M Driving Experience at the Salzburg Ring were lucky enough to witness in person two of BMW M’s newest creations – the BMW F10 M5 and the limited edition lightweight M3 CRT. Both of these cars were revealed to the public for the first time at BMW M Night event at the M Festival during the 24 Hours Nurburgring race. Live event photos can be found here and here.

BMW M Festival has officially kicked off tonight with M Night, where we participated in the first public viewing of the 2012 BMW M5 and the just revealed BMW M3 CRT [Official Info Thread].
The event took place in BMW’s building at the Nurburgring track. The building itself had stadium seating on the side of the building facing the track to observe cars and races running on the famed ‘ring’. The event took place on the ground level in the event hall.
Brian Watts, BMW M GmbH’s General Manager Sales and Marketing, provided the english language details to each of the two cars.

Just announced: the BMW M3 CRT lightweight sedan with enhanced power! Weighing in at only 3,483 pounds and powered by an upgraded 450hp V8, this lightweight E90 M3 sedan features BMW’s latest CFRP production process. The M3 CRT is 100 pounds lighter than the standard E90 M3 sedan and 154 pounds lighter when the equipment on board is taken into account.

We bring you the latest spyshots of the BMW E90 M3 Lightweight model allegedly called M3 EVO. BMW is performing last tests on the Nürburgring prior to the offical unveiling at the M Night on June 23rd. BMW allowed us an early glimpse at the car back in April. The M3 EVO is said to be slotted between a regular E9x M3 and the extreme M3 GTS. Powered by the already famous S65 V8 engine, we expect an output in the neighborhood of 440hp. BMW will use the M3 EVO to showcase the increasing use of lightweight materials and parts, such as lightweight seats and brake discs, among other things. Just in, here are some brand new spy shots of the BMW Lightweight E90 M3 said to be called M3 EVO. Back in April, BMW teased us with a first surprise appearance of this car in Garching. Thanks to Klier and rususlikwho caught this car at the Nürburgring, we can now share another glimpse at this car.
Unlike the earlier spotting, this test car looks exactly like what has been presented in Garching. Dedicated front spoiler lip and rear spoiler supposedly made from some lightweight material, 6-piston lightweight brakes (more info), and a unique color what we suppose is a non-metallic Interlagos Blue.
