The German F10 M5 configurator has gone online — at BMW Germany’s website. F10 M5 intent owners and tire kickers can now see the different M5 configurations available (at least for Germany).

The Configurator can be found at http://www.bmw.de/de/de/general/conf…figurator.html

The BMW.com M5 visualizer has also been available since June.

The F10 M5 starts at 102,700 euros in Germany (equivalent of 148,129 USD). For comparison, the last price for the E60 M5 (Sep 2010) was EUR 94,700 which means a price increase of roughly 8.5%. Applying the same … CONTINUED

The new M5 had recently made its way onto the track at Laguna Seca and BMW was kind enough to shoot some video while there. The bone chilling engine and exhaust note are more then enough to remind us that this car is the real deal and belongs at home on the track just as well as it does on the road.

The F10 M5 is of course BMW’s fifth generation of the M5 and newest M car to make it to market. The M5 packs 560HP … CONTINUED

This is perhaps the best sounding clip we’ve heard yet of the 2012 F10 M5. Many people have lamented the loss of the iconic naturally aspirated V10 of the previous generation M5 and one of the reasons is the expectation that the bi-turbo V8 won’t sound nearly as good. This exhaust clip may go far in convincing some people otherwise however. F10 M5 exhaust video clip inside.

The 2012 M5 (F10) will come in a fairly extensive choice of colors, including some beautiful individual exterior color options. One of the individual exterior color options is Brilliant White Metallic, which we’ve spotted hanging out at BMW M HQ in Garching, Germany.

Besides the individual brilliant white metallic exterior paint, the this M5 also has other individual options, such as the black painted mirrors and wheels. The red leather interior looks great set off against the white and black exterior color scheme.

As for not having blue … CONTINUED

What most folks have not realized so far are the extensive modifications BMW has made to the F10 M5 engine. We point those out for you below, referencing BMW’s released info. The guys over at M5Board got their hands on the first picture of the upcoming F10 M5 Engine Bay! This motor is at the heart of all the M5 speculation at the moment. Many have said that the F10 M5 makes an impression closer to the E39 M5 than the immediately preceding E60 M5, by ditching the E60′s more avant garde lines and styling for the more direct and linear lines of the E39 generation. To us, this observation certainly has some merit, as borne out by the photo comparison below. To our eyes, the concept F10 M5 seemingly occupies the space between the E39 and E60 iterations – toning down the at-times controversial E60′s curvacious and nontraditional cutlines, … CONTINUED

The 2012 F10 M5 continues cold weather testing and evaluation in Northern Sweden. As with our last F10 M5 photos, this one also wears a set of snow wheels/tires for testing purposes and are not the wheels we’ve come to know as the production wheels (which can be seen here and here). The mirrors you see are the production intent versions.

We were told that the speedometer topped out at 320km/h (199mph)

We have posted some older spy photos below (from the Nurburgring) which shows what the production … CONTINUED
