It’s been months since we’ve spied any BMW i8 prototype showing any outwardly noticeable changes, but this i8 mule we spied last week finally shows some changes. We’ve also posted some photos below of a previous prototype and concept i8, for comparison.
• Classic Hoffmeister kink has now been revealed.
• Kidney grilles now more visible than ever.
• Sideskirts now match the concept i8.
• Side view mirrors are sportier and extend out further, for a more exotic look.
• Door handles have been deleted from the doors and moved to the newly created gap between the rear edge of the door and the rear quarter panel, just like on the i8 Spyder Concept.
• Rear fenders/shoulders and tail lights have been raised for a more aggressive look, to match … CONTINUED
Have a look at a visual comparison between the just fully revealed 3 Series GT against the 5 Series GT.
Here are the first fully revealed 2013 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo (GT) cars! These two 3 Series GT models, in two different trims, were just spied during a BMW video shoot.
The 3 Series GT shares a similar front fascia look to the F30 3 series sedan, and a tail end which, although still a bit ungainly, is somewhat sportier than that on the 5 Series GT. Although the 3 Series GT (F34) shares a similar front end to the 3 Series sedan, design which it shares with the upcoming 4 Series Coupe is the front fender vent, which was recently spied on a production 4 Series Coupe (F32) model. The different finishes on the fender vents show us the vents on the F32 4 … CONTINUED
Our latest spy photos of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe (F36) may not reveal anything new for the exterior [see past spy photos] , but this is the first look at the F36’s interior.
And it looks just like the F30 3 Series interior. But, what’s new is the presence of the iDrive Touch controller. This comes as no surprise as BMW has already announced details for a touch sensitive iDrive controller knob and it’s been previously seen on the 2014 BMW X5 (F15) prototype. The iDrive Touch system will debut with the next X5 in Fall 2013 as that comes before the 4 Series Gran Coupe’s expected debut in 2014.
Inside is some official information on the upcoming iDrive Touch system and a video demonstration.

This just in… we’ve finally spotted the BMW 2 Series! Seen undergoing winter testing in Munich is this 2 Series Convertible (F23) prototype. If you recall from 2006, the very first 1 Series prototype ever spotted was also the convertible version, prior to the coupe model.
What do we see?
To the delight of many F20/F21 1 Series hecklers, even through the camouflage it appears the 2 Series headlights will indeed be sleeker and sportier! A comparison (photo below) against an F20/F21 1 Series prototype at this stage of camouflage shows the size and shape differences between the headlights already. The photos do not reveal whether the headlights connect to the kidney grilles as it does on the F30 and upcoming models such as the next X5 … CONTINUED
Seeing the 2014 M3 Sedan (F80) in the harsh winter of northern Sweden this time of the year for cold weather testing is no surprise. Nor is seeing the prototype at a gas station being refueled.
But, the type of fuel that this F80 M3 test car was being filled with by its driver was certainly surprising. An astute witness captured these images at a gas station in Kode, Sweden, while witnessing the test driver of the M3 refueling the car with E85 ethanol fuel (a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline).
So, is BMW testing an M3 which is powered by ethanol fuel? Very unlikely. Human error seems to be the cause as the witness described the seemingly confused test driver first grab the wrong … CONTINUED
The new BMW M3 (F80) sedan will arrive in 2014, but what should it be like? Steve Sutcliffe puts three of its predecessors through their paces at Brands Hatch to find the perfect ingredients.
It’s been months since we last spied the 2014 4 Series (F32) Coupe, but here it is, in production form and nearly fully uncovered! What we see is a sleek sports coupe version of the F30 sedan which resembles a smaller 6 Series. And yes, we are now certain that it will come to market as the “4 Series.”
BODY
Compared to the current E92 3 Series coupe, the F32 features a sleeker roofline with a more fastback shaped tail end (though not nearly as dramatic as something like the Audi A7). The rear quarter windows have been elongated and end beautifully a more angular and sleeker hofmeister kink. See the comparison photo below between the F32 and E92 side profiles.
The most prominent styling embellishment visible so … CONTINUED
We have added our side profile renders of the 2015 BMW M4 Coupe (F82) to our set of official renders.
We started with a photo of the F82 M4 right outside of the BMW M testing center at the Nurburgring and began peeling away at the camouflage based on details which can be discerned from this particular prototype, other F82 M4 and F80 M3 mules, as well as our other imagination and speculation.
Here are some render highlights:
• Sportier and sleeker kidney grilles (as seen on previous F32 4 series coupe prototype).
• Sleeker headlights than sedan (which has been rumored and is expected).
• Similar front apron/bumper styling as the F80 M3 - with combined styling from the M6 and 1M (seen clearly in spy pics)
• Air curtain … CONTINUED
