Months ago we uncovered much of the M235i by way of a set of very revealing photos (reposted below), but we now show you some more unique looks.

The first image shows the M235i bumper (on the left) compared to the standard 2 Series bumper (on the right). The 2 Series bumper is the same as the one spotted on the standard 2 Series prototype we showed you last week. Both designs look very sporty to us. The image also gives a great top-down look at the M235i and highlights how short its overhangs and tail end are.

Next up is the first look at the M235i’s undercarriage and shows us that like the M135i, it is not equipped with a limited slip differential (LSD) as … CONTINUED

For Americans, it may seem way early to see next gen X1 prototypes, but here it is. As the current X1 has been in production in Europe since 2009, the next generation model should come in 2015-2016.

On the outside, the F48 X1 adopts a brawnier and stockier look, owing to a significantly shorter front end, shortened overhangs, and a taller and more upright greenhouse.

The next X1 will make the switch from RWD to FWD by riding on BMW’s FWD “UKL” platform, which will also underpin the next 1 Series and MINIs. However, like the current X1, the next generation model should also be offered with AWD transmission. The switch to FWD will allow for better packaging, less costly production and more interior space.

As our newest photos show, the 2 Series Coupe (F22) sure has grown up from the current 1 Series Coupe (E82). The 3.1 inch gain in overall length and 1.2 inch longer wheelbase (see dimension/specs comparisons) appears to come mostly in the front, elongating the front end and giving the F22 a sleeker look overall. Adding to this effect is the less bulbous greenhouse which features a more raked window and a rear roofline that has been elongated and joins the trunk on a more subtle angle than on the E82.

Production on the 2 Series begins next month and it will have its public auto show debut at the Detroit auto show in mid-January.

The 2 Series Coupe will be officially revealed imminently, so stay tuned. … CONTINUED

The previous set of 4 Series Gran Coupe photos may have given us our first look at the M Sport package equipped model, but our new photos give us the best look yet, and in Estoril Blue II, which has proved to be the most popular 4 Series color among our members yet (see color poll).

The Gran Coupe variant (F36) of the 4 Series effectively shares the same exterior styling as the Coupe, but with an elongated roofline and an extra pair of doors. The interior will also be shared with the other 4 Series models [previous interior spy pics].

The 4 Series Gran Coupe will debut next year, with production possibly by 3rd-4th quarter of 2014. The F36 will generally feature the same model and … CONTINUED

Now that the BMW M235i specs have been revealed, we take a look at how they compare on paper to the M135i hatchback, 435i coupe, 135is and E46 M3. All in all, its specs are very encouraging for those of us clamoring for a return of a E46-type sports coupe/sedan.
