One of the most oft asked question regarding the upcoming F10 M5 production car is whether it will come with a manual transmission option. BMW has already announced that the F10 M5 will have a 7-speed DCT transmission, but has been mum on confirming whether or not a 6-speed manual would be made available.
With these photos, it now appears that indeed there will likely be a manual transmission option. Manual purists rejoice! It’s certainly odd seeing a stick shift next to an electronic e-brake, … CONTINUED

M-Power.com has just published a new video of the F10 M5 at BMW’s own racetrack in Miramas, France. BMW gives us another glimpse at the testing procedures they perform, including high speed (> 300 km/h or 190mph), launch control vs. smoky burnout, wet handling course and general performance testing. They have obviously also reworked the launch control function of the M DCT and gives us a neat demonstration. The BMW engineers are optimizing the new BMW M5 even for extreme conditions. EVO has posted a great video review of a preproduction F10 M5 by Chris Harris, filmed in the Swedish winter. If you’ll recall, EVO previously posted a bit of a teaser clip and article in which it was confirmed that the new M5 will have at least 555hp (that’s the output of the X5 M and X6 M) and that “there’s a seven-speed DCT dual clutch transmission with three different shift speeds and a fully automatic mode.

Here is another video featuring the BMW Concept M5. Some weeks after the Unveil in Garching, BMW is currently showcasing the Concept M5 at the 2011 Shanghai Motor Show, and M-Power.com has just released a video of the VIP preview event, featuring some M enthusiasts prediction and then reaction to the M5 unveil.
Here it is – the pre-production F10 M5 with as little camouflage as we have ever seen it with. With most of the front bumper exposed, it’s easy to see that it will basically mirror the front fascia of the concept F10 M5 revealed last month. These sleeker (than concept) side mirrors were not revealed on the concept F10 M5, but should debut on the production F10 M5 in Frankfurt later this year, at the production M5′s world reveal. Expect these wheels to be production intent.

We had a chance to sit down and interview the gracious Matt Russell, M Brand and Alpina Manager for the US, at the 2011 New York International Auto Show. Like us, Matt is a BMW enthusiast through and through. He races BMWs and describes himself as the biggest manual transmission purist he knows. We posed to Matt some commonly asked questions among our forums and members, and are able to share with you the following insights.

This time around, Gerald (Alpine325ci) unleashes the white F10 M5 through his skills and imagination. So which one do our members prefer – the white or black F10 M5? We’d take either!
Gerald unleashes the production F10 M5 in his latest work. Most of what you see here should be very accurate as they are based directly on the latest revealing F10 M5 spy photos. The render quality is again top notch, especially the wheels, which look spot on to the wheels in the M5 spy photos.
We bring you the best photos yet of the F10 M5 on the track. Spotted at the ring today performing high speed runs, the production front bumper is yet again exposed, save some camouflage tape. Some more design elements of the rear lower bumper also comes into view – particularly the area around the quad exhausts.
Also apparent is the more aggressive M5 sideskirts, rear deck lid spoiler, and the beautifully concave wheel wheels, all of which are production versions. The 2012 M5 is expected to make … CONTINUED
This white 2012 M5 was spotted out testing today and is the first non-black F10 M5 we have seen. This signals that the M5 is now in FEP stage. Its camouflage remains similar to recent F10 M5 test mules, but its LED angel eyes are showed off nicely. The front and rear bumper remain covered, but we have posted the previously spotted mostly revealed M5 front bumper below for reference. All the other body panels you see, including mirrors and wheels are … CONTINUED
