Top Gear online reviews the new F20 1 series and comes away impressed with BMW’s newest hatchback. In sum, they felt that “the 120d is one of the most energetic diesels I’ve ever driven, its auto ‘box is terrific, and it’s so clean I’d dearly like to drive it into eco-man George Monbiot’s Toyota Prius.”
The latest Euro NCAP results are in and the 2011 F20 1-series has received the full 5-star rating.
The new 1 series even scored well enough to achieve the maximum safety rating under a stricter NCAP criteria being introduced next year. For the 2012 tests, cars will be required to score at least 60% (up from current 40%) in the pedestrian protection category to be awarded a full 5 stars.
We’ve posted the full results below. Needless to say, the new 1 series continues BMWs recent history of producing some of the safest cars available.

This is the first music (industrial) film of the BMW Group. “check my machine” is a film project which has been created in a close collaboration between the BMW Group’s Electronic Media Department and creative Munich artists Jonas Imbery (Gomma Records) and Mirko Borsche (Bureau mirko borsche). The Brainstormclub and Eyetrip are responsible for production.
The soundtrack was exclusively generated out of the noises of the new F20 BMW 1 Series.
We havent had some great looks at the F20 M-Sport yet, but the best images of the new car are by far the ones offered up by the BMW Configurator. The configurator will let you setup the F20 in Sport or Urban lines, and now has added M-Sport to the mix. You can also setup the exterior color and the view, and then download a high resolution snapshot of the car. I’ve taken a snapshot of all the colors available on the F20 M-Sport including Estoril Blue II and Valencia Orange which now make their way onto the 5-Door 1-Series.
