The EPA has revised the 2012 328i (F30) MPG figures down by 3MPG to 33MPG. According to BMW:
All manufacturers are responsible for testing and submitting fuel economy figures each year to the EPA (based on physical tests following the EPA test cycle on a dynamometer). Occasionally, the EPA will validate the figures that we provide. When this happens, there are sometimes small changes in the published EPA fuel economy figures (usually 1 mpg up or down).

Challenge undertakes their F30 development on powertrain and cosmetic parts to see what improvements they can make to the car’s powertrain and other mechanical systems (i.e. exhaust system, intercooler, intake system, oil cooling, etc.).
We recently featured a video of the F30 328i running to 155mph, now watch and compare with this video of the F30 335i doing the same. Both feature very impressive acceleration and gear changes.
Motor Trend’s performance review of the F30 2012 335i sedan. The review puts the 335i F30 through the performance tests 0-60mph, 60-0 braking, quarter mile, lateral G’s.
They were able to accomplish a 0-60mph of only 4.7 seconds and the quarter mile in just 13.3 seconds. They also conduct a broader general review of many of the F30 335i’s aspects. Check out the video review inside.
Insideline puts the 2012 328i (F30) through a battery of performance tests on their own track to get some real life test results. Here are the results:
0-60mph: 5.9 sec
0-60mph (with 1 ft rollout): 5.5 sec
1/4 mile: 14.1 sec @ 98.9mph
60-0mph braking: 115ft
Skid Pad: 0.88g
Respectable results, but a bit slower than some other outlets have tested.
Insideline recently strapped the 2012 328i with its turbo 4 cylinder N20 engine on the dyno and achieved even higher at-the-wheel power than the EAS Dyno we reported on recently.
On 91 octane and a dynojet, this F30 328i achieved 240hp / 257 lb-ft torque at the wheels
Assuming a 16% drivetrain loss for the sake of argument, this would equal approximately 286hp / 306 lb-ft torque at the crank. Compare this to the F30 328i’s factory rating of 240hp / 255lb-ft torque at the crank. The 328i … CONTINUED
The 2012 328i (F30) impresses again as Motor Trend comes in with their review and performance results of the F30 328i Sport Line model they recently tested.
In performance results, the 328i with its touted N20 turbo 4-cylinder engine managed to achieve a 5.6 second 0-60mph, quarter mile in 14.2 seconds @ 97.8 mph, and 0.90g on the skidpad.
All in all, Motor Trend feels that the 328i is better than the 335i. As they put it: Want to know the real kicker? Don’t tell BMW, but … CONTINUED
As you may already have seen, a member recently took delivery of his 2012 328i (F30) sedan and wasted no time in getting it strapped to the dyno. The 2012 328i sedan is powered by the twinpower twin-scroll turbo 4-cylinder inline “N20″ engine, factory rated at 240hp / 255lb-ft torque.
This F30 328i was tested on EAS (European Auto Source)’s Dynojet 224xLC and put down an impressive 226hp / 230lb-ft torque (at the wheels), with just 91 octane gasoline.
