This is by far one of the more interesting prospects for BMW in the realm of electrified vehicles, especially from the POV of people who can’t yet make the full leap to the BMWi vehicles.
The X5 is powered by a combination of a BMW TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder combustion engine and a 95-horsepower electric motor. This results in an average MPG … CONTINUED

The X5 eDrive plug-in hybrid model has now been spotted undergoing testing. These may only be a couple of photos, but we already know what the F15 X5 looks like. We expect the X5 eDrive to launch sometime around late 2014 – early 2015.
As for specs? The X5 eDrive Concept model was unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show last September and featured:
BMW has been advertising the 2014 F15 X5 with the tagline “The Boss is Back” (seen at the end of the second ad below) and the latest commercial coming out of Japan humorously shows just how boss the new X5 is — stopping a tough biker gang and a train dead in their tracks. The boss X5 is of course given the right of way.
We have added our newest photos of the 2015 BMW X5 M.
Testing on the second generation BMW X5 M continues while the prototypes shed some camouflage. This is the first red F85 X5 M we’ve seen and as with earlier prototypes, it wears the signature M components – huge front air intakes, more aggressive sideskirts and rear diffuser, blue M brakes, and cross drilled rotors (the first for any X5 model). We also have a better look at the … CONTINUED
